

Diarmuid Scully was born and raised
in Limerick city. A graduate of the University of Limerick, he worked for a
time in the United States, South Africa and Britain before returning home
in 1996.
A member of the city council for the last ten years, he was elected
Mayor of Limerick in 2005. He is a frequent commentator in the local and
national media on issues pertaining to his native city.
Diarmuid lives with
his wife Ruth and their two sons, Michael and Ferdia, in Lynwood Park on
Singland Hill - the site of William of Orange's encampment.
